This trip takes into account that students are in fact two years older then when they first embarked onto the Outward Bound experience in Aberdovey.
Students have to face even more challenges that will strive to push students out of their comfort zones and realise their own potential.
One of the most eagerly anticipated activities is the night "bivvying" outside. Students have to paddle across a lake, go on a small hike and create their own camp sites for night! Students have to carry and cook their own food and even have a warm chocolate pudding snack. Of course they then do have to wash everything up using natural soap and the river water.
There are many different activities that students have to face. The picture to the right shows the students coast-steering a real thrill.
Each year the activities change and develop but the constant is how much our students enjoy their time at Ullswater. The fantastic staff are always willing to push students outside of their comfort zone but understand how important it is when sometimes just thinking about doing an activity before saying "no" can be a big step forward for some.
Students get to spend another night inside the dormitories where there are excellent facilities and have an evening of night games and down time.
Ullswater truly is a different experience to Aberdovey and all students that go do wish they could go back again and again. Many of our students go on to be very successful at Duke of Edinburgh and complete Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
